Our leaders at Open Door seek to be Christ-like servants of all, no matter what their role. In fact, we believe that all followers of Jesus are called to lead by serving others. As Jesus said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all” (Mark 10:43-44).
Lead Staff
Daniel Swihart – Senior Pastor
Daniel has been the pastor of Open Door Community Church since February 2021. He has a passion for helping people understand God’s Story in new, life-changing ways. He and his wife Rachael have three rambunctious children (Zeke, Sarah, and Eli). He also tells high-quality dad jokes.
Jane Hamilton – Associate Pastor
Jane has been the associate pastor of ODCC since January 2023. She has a passion for care ministries and providing love and support to others. She and her husband Tom have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Prior to her pastoral ministry, Jane was a professor at Sauk Valley Community College. Jane loves to fill her free time with books and is an avid reader.
Charles Larry, III – Director of Recovery
Charles has been the Directory of Recovery since June 2024. He is passionate about youth and mental health. Charles is also the author of Stay: A Guide on How to Recognize the Signs and Save a Life, a guide to suicide prevention, the owner/operator of JHosheah, an online store for Christian apparel and Xtreme Crossfire, a local mobile paintball service.
